ok well here we are on the glorious isle of Mull. Well I've never seen rain like it! Beautiful, but hardcore. It's an amazing place and space. You really need to take your mind somewhere else when you get here or it will do it for you. Extraordinary. Supposed to film tomorrow in severe rain and severe wind, according to accuweather. Don't believe the hype... Get on with it!

Hot and steamy film making at last!

A day basking in 25 degrees on the delightful surroundings of the Pinewood studios underwater stage. There's not a great deal of sound being recorded today...

Nous allons!

Bank holiday Monday and sat in the eurotunnel queue. Off to France for the last filming trip of this series. Looking forward to the 5 euros a pint bars! Quite a few night shoots this time so maybe won't be going out as much anyway...

no, no, no, it'll be perfect...Some beautiful woods, birds tweeting, a bit of mist swirls in the background...mmm... Ok, cut to, shin deep mud, EZ up hammered, rain for 6 hours, gear covered in everything available, cold tea, soggy sandwiches, nothing works, tempers fray, get it? Three amazing actors make it so.... brilliant...That's why I'm here...

Relax...And Action!

30 degrees and sunny all week. Hmmm, almost certainly not Welsh weather. In fact it was Majorcan. No, sadly Merlin has not fled for foreign climes, we have just had a production break for a week. So now we are back in the studio for a week, then a few days on location around Glamorgan, followed by another trip to the French location for the castle scenes....

Rain? in Wales?

Ok this is serious... They have horizontal stuff here, it goes straight into your ears and out the other side. Anyway that was Friday's filming, up in the Shire of Monmouth, beautiful. in fact Ross on Wye gets the award for best dawn sunrise with rolling hills, stunning.
We are now back at the studio, listening to rain hammering down on the tin roof, trying to record two actors whispering a three minute scene. Not the easiest of days work....
